FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2021 5 The Board congratulates Jerry Monahan and Joe Barletta for their re-election and Barry Ginnetti as our newest elected board member. Congratulations! Ballots are on their way to eliminate the District Delegate and cumulative voting. Eliminating the District Delegate will be a substantial cost savings and will eliminate ballots mailed out with postage-paid return. The HOA also incurs a cost to draft ballots and legal costs to review. In addition, if for any reason the delegate is not available on election day, the district votes will not be counted under our current CC&Rs. We would like all votes to count once quorum is reached for the entire community. Currently, we have cumulative voting, which means you can cast as many votes to one candidate as there are open seats. By eliminating cumulative voting, you will still be able to cast as many votes as there are seats open, but just one vote per candidate. Once you receive your ballot, please vote as per the current CC&Rs; it takes 67 percent or 2/3 majority, to even open the ballots, so we are looking for an 80 percent return. The Board has contracted a new security company, Securitas, as of May 1. Due to overwhelming community input, effective May 17, all guests using the main Potrero gate will be required to show a photo ID for entry, regardless if they are on your guest list (this includes residents if you do not have a transponder with you). With the new company, now is a good time to update your permanent guest list. The Board opened The Summit pool with abbreviated hours, but is now open for reservations under normal hours. The gyms and spas still require reservations. The Lodge and Courts' pools do not require reservations, as is the case with pickleball, paddleball, horseshoes, bocce ball, and shuffleboard. The Library is open to one resident at a time. Currently no guests are permitted in any of our facilities. Remember, masks must be worn while inside all facilities. Our Bistro is open at 50 percent capacity for inside dining or you may enjoy your meal in our beautiful Logia area outside seating. Check our website for daily Bistro specials. This month I would like to highlight the Community Planning Committee (CPC) and the Social Committee. The CPC is currently working on a Ballroom expansion project which will increase the Ballroom capacity, which is needed now that our community is at build-out. Now that COVID guidelines have allowed more activities to open, the Social Committee is planning several events. Please keep an eye out for dates in the Daily Report and Breeze magazine. As a reminder, our committees are always looking for volunteers. Board of Director meetings are now held in person the second Thursday of each month in the Ballroom at 1 pm. During these meetings, the Board cannot respond to resident questions, per civil code. If you have questions or concerns and would like to speak directly with a board member, please attend the monthly "Meet the Board," an informal setting that allows dialog between board members and residents. This meeting is scheduled the third Wednesday of each month at 1 pm in the Ballroom. Check the Daily Report for details. If you wish to contact the Board about any issue, you may send an email to the Board at theboard@fourseasonsbeaumont.org or call me directly at (714) 722-1301. Take care and be kind to one another. Message From The Board By Kathy Craven, Board Vice President
