The waiting is over! We will be having our dinner meeting, Fri., June 18 in the South Clubhouse. (Please note: the meeting will be in South Clubhouse not the North as previously reported.) We will be meeting for dinner, for laughter and camaraderie. In order to catch up with each other, doors will open at 5 pm, meeting and dinner at 5:45 pm. Yes, we're able to have a catered dinner and are having a new caterer that has been highly recommended by some of the other clubs… we know you will enjoy the dinner. We are limited to 50 people so get your $17 for the dinner to Maggie Kline, 650 Brooklawn Dr. right away or call her at (951) 797-0694. Everyone's favorite, card bingo, will be our entertainment. It won't be like before, as there will be a new norm throughout the world, but we will be able to see our friends… to laugh, to play, and to enjoy the Social Singles. Don't forget we're going to have a contest for the most original mask, so get your creativity out. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to our restaurant. Our monthly dinners in the restaurant will be coming back soon. Our thanks go out to our President, Joan Blumenfeld, for calling our membership to keep in touch and to put a smile on our faces. On behalf of the Social Singles Board, we are all so happy to be able to see our dear, dear friends again. If you know of anyone who is sick or needs cheering up, please contact Barbara Willens at (951) 769-0912 and she will send them a card. Spreading Sunshine Young at Heart The Young at Heart club's "Ocho de Mayo" golf tournament was great fun and a huge success. Fourteen foursomes competed and cash prizes were awarded to the top six finishers. The members of the team finishing in last place each received complimentary enrollment in an upcoming Sun Lakes Golf Clinic. More than seventy Young at Heart members enjoyed tacos and margaritas at the awards dinner held outdoors after the tournament. Expecting health-related restrictions to be eased in the coming months, we are developing plans for several more activities to bring our members together for the kind of fun and camaraderie for which our events are famous. These include a block party with live music, food and drinks, a golf cart rally, a bocce tournament and dinner, and a unique New Year's Eve progressive dinner party, among others. Complete details will be emailed to all members as plans for each event are finalized. We welcome new members and annual dues are still just $10 per person. We are also open to creative new ideas for fun activities. For questions, suggestions, or to join Young at Heart, call Michele Walter at (951) 202-8009. | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2021 | 21 Social Singles Wonderful news!
