Woodchucks
Attention Woodchucks & Wannabe Woodchucks: Woodchuck
members who want to use the wood shop must annually be safety
certified and sign waivers. This month we will be calling on members
to renew their certification. The process has been improved from
past years by having both the Safety film and the Shop-Orientation
film on the OHCC Woodchuck website.
All 2020 members have had their $10 dues carried forward
through 2021. For all wannabe Woodchucks, the dues for 2021 are
$10. Then the certification process is simple. Go online, watch the
two films, then sign the two waivers. Instructions will be sent out to
all members this month.
Our appreciation goes to our Woodchuck VP Larry See for starring
in the Shop Orientation film. The AV Committee sent their talented
cameraman Rob Schoonover to film the production. Anthony
Scalise, the HOA magician of film and sound, created the finished
film. Many thanks to Member Mike Thornton for our website work.
We are fortunate to have such talent available to us. Thank you all!
Now that we are crawling out of our burrows, let us get back to our
creations. Woodchucks pride themselves in helping neighbors with
wheelchair ramps, bluebird house repairs, window security rods, or
common area shop-work. Some answer our request to build the toys
for the kids of Camp Pendleton, others look at their "honey-do list"
and use the shop to fix "stuff."
Mainly we join just to mess around making sawdust with the
finest tools available!
