As Told by Honey Bunny Bee Cook In 2013, my mum saw a picture of a cute pup at the Orange Humane Society. My big brother Harley came from there, so Mum and Grammie drove from Murrieta to Orange. When they got there, the pup had been adopted. My mum was sad until they told her that there was another pup up for adoption-ME! (I was rescued from the crazy streets of LA!) My mum walked back and instantly fell in love with my big moon eyes. They named me "Honey Bunny Bee." I'm a Cairn terrier puppy mix, my favorite human brother Joey did my DNA and it says I'm a ton of different dogs. My first week home, mum brought me to work at a winery in Temecula where customers fell in love with me. I was so little and cute! We traveled a few times to Arizona, Lake Havasu, and Green Valley to visit my aunt and uncle, on one trip someone left the sliding door open a bit and Harley and I got over the back wall by way of a rock waterfall! When they got home, they started frantically looking for us in the desert. Harley didn't go far but had cactus needles all over him when Uncle Mike found him. I decided to venture out farther but heard my dad's loud whistle and I was found! Everyone was crying, I had cactus needles in my mouth and all over my body, but I learned my lesson. When my brother Harley passed away in 2019, we were broken hearted, and my mum and dad promised a new pup after we moved to "The Island." After selling, buying and moving the pandemic happened - so they started looking for my baby brother. In October we adopted a miniature Schnauzer, "Baby Boy Bailey" born in Hemet, from an adorable family living close by. When he moved in, I was thinking "Ugh! Bailey can't play and he's getting all the attention!" Bailey is crazy, full of energy and cries when mum walks out the door. He barks at birds and runs on his back legs when we go for a walk. We both love to chase a ball. Bailey, such a show-off, returns the ball. I make everyone chase me to get it. Mum has ordered "dog buttons" to get us to talk instead of bark. Maybe we will get to know more neighbors soon, since we don't have to "social distance" much now. It sure has been a wild year! If Bailey see this, he might want his own article, so don't show it to him please! By Theresa Rossetti, Resident Baby Boomers are the demographic cohort following the Silent Generation and preceding Generation X, born between 1946 and 1964 according to Wikipedia, so it's obviously true. It's a safe bet that quite of few of SDV residents fit into this category. While time-wasting on social media, I came across this post by Uncle Joe (Anonymous source), combining snippets of lyrics into an amusing and nostalgic "poem." One earned an Oscar for Best Song, one is a Grammy winner for Best Original Score for a Movie, many were used in films and a number of them are listed in Rolling Stones Magazine 500 Best Songs of the Century. Not bad for tunes we used to listen to on the transistors hidden under our pillow so our parents didn't know we were awake! How many can you identify without resorting to an Internet search? Titles, recording artist(s), music/lyrics if not the artist(s), can be found on another page. Note: some may have more than one answer, I picked the one I remember best or the one that matched the lyrics most closely.
