30 | THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2021 | By Hank Fleischer, 714-272-3684 We continue to have great attendance in our practice bowling league at 1 pm on Thursdays at Bowlero Bowling Center. Now it's time for us to start forming teams. Lynn Ennes (current league secretary) will be collecting names and contact information from everyone who would like to bowl in our Winter League, which starts in September and usually runs till the middle of May. If you already have your team figured out, please send the information to Lynn at lynnennes@gmail.com or call her at (925) 917-1959. She will be the contact person for all those who wish to bowl in the league. If you are not currently on a team or have only a couple of bowlers, send that information as well, with a note that you want on this team but need additional bowlers. Lynn, Andy and I will stay on as the league officers and we are trying to set up a date in the Auditorium to go over the rules and fees, etc., of our league sometime in the middle of August. Hopefully all the teams will be filled by then. Please contact Lynn as soon as possible as to your intentions about the league so we can be way ahead of the game. Bowling CLUB NEWS By Leo Alonzo, 714-473-9969 The Roadrunners RV Club wishes everyone a Happy Fourth of July! We are extending an invitation to all our Colony neighbors and friends to join our club. If you own a recreational vehicle, or if you prefer to rent an RV, cabin, yurt, etc., come and join our outings to various campgrounds. It's a great way to get to know your neighbors, enjoy the outdoors and join in a lot of fun activities. Our next trip is at the Flying Flags RV Resort in Buellton, CA, from Sunday, Oct. 17 to Thursday, Oct. 21. This resort has the famous Sideways Inn Hotel that was featured in the movie Sideways, and a few of our members will be staying at the hotel. So far, we have 11 RVs staying at the campgrounds where the hotel is located. Our June trip was to Tahoe Valley RV Resort in South Lake Tahoe, CA. We will have a write-up about it in the August issue of The Colony News. If you are interested, please give me a call or talk to any of the following members: Karen Alonzo (714-458-3957), Nancy Adam (760-954-6515), Sharon Smith (951-760-8142), Scott Ross (310-722-6248), or Laurie Frere (714-330-0160).
