| THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2021 | 3 CELEBRATE THE GOOD The June swoon is over and the summer heat is here. Halfway through 2021, your HOA Board of Directors has been busy catching up after 15 months of "pandemic," attempting to get the Clubhouse fully open and restaffing our Maintenance personnel. It has not been the best of times, but we appreciate your patience as we strive to restore order. The Pavilion vote is behind us. We are now gathering bids for the many other projects involving Clubhouse maintenance and restoration, looking ahead to a new Board election, and planning for the fall calendar and schedule of events. Clearly, the past year has proven to be a challenge for all of us, but overall The Colony has risen to the task. Yes, there have been disagreements and we have been closed far too long, but the future looks good. As we prepare the Clubhouse to open, we are anxious and ready to restore life as it was pre-pandemic. Our Activities Director is starting to reschedule events, our fall and winter calendar will be full, and we will wonder if there was ever a respite. Let us resolve to celebrate what is good about life here in The Colony. Let us begin to get out and about with friends and enjoy the fellowship with one another. Invite friends over and enjoy a laugh as we look back at a time we thought would never pass. Let us see the best in ourselves and our circumstances as we encourage neighbors to rise up as The Colony lifestyle and the ambience we commonly share is once again front and center. Get reinvolved in your committees (volunteer), stay informed and be active in promoting your favorite clubs and activities. It is a GREAT time to be here in The Colony! July 4th is upon us, our freedoms are assured, and all that is good about America lies ahead. Yes, as a country we embrace our failures, we recognize our shortcomings, we need to heal our differences, but more than ever, we are blessed. Labor Day, Oktoberfest, Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner. Party hearty, but let us be thankful for friends and fellowship. Find what is most important to you, reach out to others, and understand that life is what we make it. May the reminder of 2021 be full of the joy in day-to-day accomplishments. Celebrate LIFE! From the HOA Board of Directors By Walt Bowman, President Happy Fourth of July!
