12 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2021 | Communications Advisory The Communications Advisory Committee is pleased to see so many clubs and groups coming out of hibernation, planning meetings and events again. The Channel 97 team is working hard to create videos for you to promote yourselves on Good Day Sun Lakes (GDSL), and Channel 97. Now that we have more content again, we have been able to create a more consistent schedule (below and on GDSL). We hope that with the addition of the Channel 97 crawl and Week at a Glance on GDSL Facebook, you will be able to find the community information you need in a more efficient way. Sun Lakes Committee Reports We are happy to see more Advisory Committees submitting articles about the important work they are doing in Sun Lakes. Our goal is to have all active Advisory Committees share their news here each month. Thank you in advance for everyone's participation! Library Advisory All libraries are currently open! FINALLY – join us for our "BUCK A BAG" book sale on July 4th in the Main Clubhouse library. Puzzles, videos and a wide selection of books accumulated since our last event will be available. A generous resident recently donated about 200 audio books. We are replenishing those shelves within the next few weeks as we check for complete discs and repair packaging if necessary. We still have a surplus of puzzles in the North Clubhouse, so feel free to donate some to family or friends until we have space available for all. A few shelving volunteers are needed for the North and South Clubhouse libraries and only a couple shifts are open in the Main Clubhouse paperback library. Please contact Joy Bailey if interested in seeing all the new books as they come in! Anyone wishing to join the 2022 Library Advisory Committee and help steer our direction, please see the Main Clubhouse receptionist for an interest form. Finance Advisory The purpose of the Finance Advisory Committee is to advise and make recommendations to the Master Board on matters pertaining to finances. We want to provide the information necessary for the Board to make prudent and proper control of the HOA's cash and assets. We have recently presented to the Board four projects for their consideration. These projects are based on our analysis of the finances and future revenue increases. They include: revising our Investment Policy, our F&B operation, Golf memberships, and new homeowner fees. If these initiatives are approved by the Board, we will move forward with a written detailed proposal which then can be fully understood and examined by the board for their decision. We look forward to working with Linda Spaulding, our Board liaison, and the new board members. Our monthly meetings are the third Tuesday of the month and open to residents.
