40 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2021 |
Yiddish Culture Club
The YCC is definitely going to celebrate
the Independence of America at our July 14
meeting. We will have wonderful entertainment
by the Fusion Quartet and we will sing patriotic
songs. The only problem is that at the time of
the deadline for this article, we cannot tell you
where or when, or how, and lots of other details.
If all the COVID restrictions are gone, we
will have a terrific BBQ in the South Clubhouse,
catered by someone wonderful, at the best
price we can manage, and we will start at 6 pm.
However, if we are not allowed back into the
South Clubhouse at full capacity, there will be
a no-dinner celebration in the Main Clubhouse
starting at 7 pm.
You will find out the answer to this riddle
through our wonderful telephone committee
and by emails with plenty of time for you to
write a check – or not have to write a check. If
you want to check out the club, please contact
Diane Berley of membership.
So that's the story – and we're sticking to it…
Our membership year begins July 1.
Membership forms have been emailed but are
also available at the rack in the Main Clubhouse.
Some Yiddish proverbial culture as we begin
to socialize again:
1) A wise man hears one word and
understands two.
2) Time is more precious than money.
3) Even silence speaks.
