How is your portfolio doing? Are you satisfied with your investment advisor? Would you like to feel comfortable trading stocks and possibly even options? Come join the Sun Lakes Investor Group. Some of our members invest on their own while others have advisors along with overseeing some of their own investments. Since COVID restrictions have eased, we meet on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. The Investor Group is led by Ajit Desai and Allen Jaszcar. Ajit has been trading for several decades. He follows and teaches the CANSLIM methodology for stock selection and trading that was pioneered by William O'Neill, the founder of Investors Business Daily. We discuss stocks that our members are interested in, growth stocks that offer good returns, when to buy, when to sell, etc. Ajit also incorporates option trading to enhance portfolio returns. We look at and talk about real time numbers and pertinent information over the Internet during our meetings. We are tuned into market trends, and although no one has a crystal ball, it's important to have information to make wise or at least informed decisions. We do not invest as a group nor do we discuss dollar amounts of members portfolios or trades. That's your business, not ours. If this piques your "interest," come visit. It is a Sun Lakes Group, so there are no dues or bylaws. Joining us may turn out to be the best investment of your time, which could lead to superior returns on your portfolio. Happy Cookers is looking forward to meeting on July 23 at the South Clubhouse at 11 am. Bring your favorite picnic dish and we will celebrate our ability to gather! One thing that really reminds us of summer is cool creamy milk shakes. Many magazines at the local stores such as the "Celebrate with Woman's World Summer Fun" include refreshing and whimsical recipes. On page 58 is a heavenly celebration of strawberry shortcake and strawberry ice cream. The magazine shows a tall ice cream sundae glass rimmed with freeze dried strawberries and crushed shortbread. This concept can be used in many ways. Just like rimming cocktails with sugars and salts, you can dip or brush clear corn syrup or a sticky frosting on the cold rim of a tall ice cream sundae glass. Then, roll the glass in combinations of crushed cookies, dried fruit, candy bars, etc. You can even drizzle the inside of the tall glass with chocolate syrup or strawberry syrup or even blueberry syrup. Then chill the glass to harden the syrup and covered rim. Next, fill the sundae glass with your favorite shake or ice cream and top with lots of cream and creative decorations. The combinations and colors are endless. Enjoy your combinations of cool, refreshing treats! Please look at postings to see if any changes will be made to gatherings in the clubhouses.
