| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2021 | 17 Master Architectural As I prepared to write the monthly report for the Master Architectural Committee, a concern of many friends and neighbors came to mind — the Restricted Zone on Golf Course lots. This is an important time for me to share our (MAC) role in reviewing your applications for making changes to the outside of your house. We follow the Architectural Standards and Guidelines. You have a copy with the information you obtained when you purchased your house. A current copy is on the Sun Lakes website. It is also on pages 70 - 86 in the Sun Lakes telephone book. The diagram of the Restricted Zone is on page 85. You can obtain a copy of the guidelines from the Planning and Compliance Department in the Administration office. It's possible you have an obstruction in this part of your landscaping. Perhaps the planting in the Restricted Zone was placed there when it was less than the required 36" tall or less. If it does not comply now, you need to obtain a landscaping permit to make the change that is necessary. ~ David Marshall Kealy, Chairman The Lifestyles Advisory Committee wishes to thank the Master Board (MB) for the opportunity to meet with them in regard to discussing our Charter, personal concerns, and the future objectives of this Committee. The MB wanted the advisory committees to know that they are here to support us and are open to our ideas and suggestions. They thanked the LAC profusely for the volunteer job we are doing, and we in return thank them for their support and encouragement. I hope in some small way this shows our appreciation for the extraordinary amount of time they give the Sun Lakes community and their collective talents and professionalism which are so generously on display. ~ Judy Garthwaite, Chair Lifestyles Advisory Life is beginning again here in Sun Lakes. Hurray! The Recreation Committee is excited about bringing fun events to the community. Charity Week and the Comedy Show were great beginnings. The time has come to think about serving on a committee. They are all necessary to our community. We have many new folks who have moved into Sun Lakes. Hopefully, you are looking for a club or a committee to serve on. Right now is the time to pick up an application at the front desk for a committee to serve on. It's a great way to get acquainted. The Recreation Advisory Committee is made up of 11 resident volunteers. We serve to assist the Recreation Director in planning events and helping at the events planned. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 2 pm. Our meetings are attended by a Master Board Member and Jason Ewals, our Assistant General Manager. You learn a lot about the community when you are serving on a committee. There will be five openings for this committee for 2022. Six members will remain. We have a box at the Main Clubhouse for residents to make suggestions of activities they would like to see in Sun Lakes. Please share your ideas — our Master Board, Management, and the Recreation Advisory Committee would like to hear from you. ~ Patricia Elevi, Chair BINGO IS COMING BACK AUG. 10!
