28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2021 | Knitters & Fiber Artists We are continuing the monthly Yarn Exchange on the second Monday of every month. What a blast we had. The next one is on Aug. 9 during our regular meeting at 12:30 pm in the North Clubhouse. All yarn, plus some tools of the trade, are from the personal stash of our friends. Everyone is welcome to contribute. All former, current, and future members are invited. Hopefully there is enough "stash" to last until the end of the year. Potlucks are on the last Monday of each month. Join the fun! We meet in the North Clubhouse every Monday from 12:30 to 3 pm or so. Questions? Call Mary Ann at (951) 769-1095. Please join us as we get reacquainted and share our beautiful quilts. We're planning new projects for our veterans and a charity quilt. Hope to see you soon. We meet the first, third, and fifth (if necessary) Monday at 1 pm. For info, call Jan Hamm at (951) 212- 6799 or Vivian Myrdahl at (626) 212-0872. Sun Lakes Quilters Sew What? Club I have often mentioned in this article that our group does much more than just Scrapbooking. We are card makers, journal creators, and some of us even build albums from scratch. We work on any number of other creative hobbies during our dedicated crafting time. One of our members, Debbie Brown, has made numerous photo albums that are unlike anything you will ever see in a store. Each one is a true work of art, thoughtfully constructed with beautiful papers and embellishments. Each segment of the book is handmade, from cutting out and assembling the cover and spine, to all the fold out pages, pockets, and flaps therein. Debbie is undaunted by the number of hours it takes to assemble each album, and the proof is in the number of these mini masterpieces she has constructed. They are quite stunning. By the time you are reading this article in August, we will have enjoyed our second birthday luncheon in well over a year. Our new members are discovering what fun we have socializing, along with working on projects at our weekly meetings. Being a member of our crafting group is inspiring and motivating, no matter your choice of project. Please contact either Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher (951) 902-9768 if you have any questions. There is no fee to join. We meet Mondays from 1 to 3 pm in the Multipurpose Room. The second Monday of each month is reserved for our luncheons. Scrapbooking We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. If you have any questions give me, Gail, a call at (951) 797-3589. Also if you have any creative ideas on projects, we'd love to hear your thoughts. See you soon.
