Faith in Action of the San Gorgonio Pass has been around for
several years and recently became a club of Sun Lakes through
Friends of Faith in Action. We even have a website www.fia-sgp.org
and a Go Fund Me account at https://gofund.me/7cb95bba.
FIA will be involved in several community events that relate to our
mission: to assist in the short-term and long-term needs of the low
income and homeless population in the Banning and Beaumont area.
Upcoming events:
Aug. 4: Fill the Bus! A local school bus will be parked in the Main
Clubhouse parking lot and we are asking Sun Lakes residents to bring
school supplies and help us fill the bus and distribute to local schools
in the area.
Aug. 10: FIA will host a Vaccine event at St. Kateri's.
Aug. 28: Parking Lot Palooza Fundraiser in the Armory parking lot.
We are collecting items for the sale. Call (951) 293-9603 for pick up.
A major goal is to establish a Navigation Center in Banning.
A Navigation Center is a place where low income and homeless
individuals/families can get assistance with programs/resources
(housing, rent and utility assistance, WIC, SNAP, medical, mental
and behavioral health, assistance with government programs etc.)
through assisted phone and computer access, one on one informal
case management and caring volunteers.
If you believe in social justice and equity for all, we need you. Please
come to one of the upcoming meeting and we will put your senior
skills to work. Join us Aug. 8 or 29 from 2 to 3:15 pm in the Main
