| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2021 | 67 From Courtney Taylor, publisher: Last month's joke was for a group called Felines of Sun Lakes. I've always thought that cats are fun when they aren't drawing blood. We've been having a secret side contest for the handful of people who read these few words in this pale yellow box. Last month's secret word was "bumfuzzle" which is a verb that means "confuse, perplex, or fluster." It seems appropriate for the Get The Joke word of the month as most jokes are perplexing if you don't know they're jokes. The winner of the "bumfuzzle" word contest is Mary Ann Melleby! I'll bring you something lovely from my guest closet or junk drawer (which is not exclusively filled with junk - that's a very misleading name. There's some new stuff in there too.) This month's word is "lollygag," and is actually something I was often instructed to stop doing when I was a kid. If you would like to win a free dinner, find the ad, article or just weird, out-of-place, completely made-up (and hopefully funny) item in this month's Lifestyles. When you find it, fill out the box below and (new!) EMAIL IT TO sunlakesnews@yahoo.com before noon on the sixth of the month. If you are the first correct guess chosen at random, you will win a free dinner. Good luck! Congratulations to this month's Dinner Winner: JANICE ELLMAN Please call Kelly in the Admin. Office for your Sun Lakes Restaurant dinner. My cat Boo is too busy patrolling the neighborhood for snacks, friendly homes and unleashed dogs. Desmond D. Great agenda. Interested in a contact number for a feline plumber to call should a CATasrophic leak occur. Victor G. Nothing surprises me at Sun Lakes any more. This might be an event in the Summer Games. Sharon K. Meow meow did you see what she was wearing? Janice E. So funny! I laughed so hard! Laurel J. Sounds like fun. I think we should have a group formed for dogs too! Jean B. A cat on a skateboard? What a concept! Linda V. What's next? A central "cat house?" Love it! Judy A. It would be pretty hard to round up cats. We'd need a triage at the meeting to dress the bloody stumps! Sue H. If there is an activity for the longest naptimes, my cat would definitely be at the head of his class! Laurie W. I love all those activities and I don't even have a cat! Bernice S. Meow meow! Did you see what she was wearing? Janice E. Call - can we train them to do other work? Barbara & Jay J. your comments: GET THE JOKE! I found the joke! Resident name (first & last): ________________________________________ This was the joke: _______________________________________________ Comments (we LOVE your notes - about anything!): _______________________ ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Send your entry to sunlakesnews@yahoo.com or drop it at the Main Clubhouse OUR ADVERTISERS ARE Payment for the production of Lifestyles (and the reason it's free to homeowners) is due to the generous support of our advertisers. Please thank them by visiting their place of business or calling them first whenever you need their service or product. THE BEST! Last month's joke: The Felines of Sun Lakes group formed because during COVID, cats in the community began to slip into a general state of ennui. We meet every Monday with our cats and introduce them to new activities such as skateboarding, swimming, marbles, hide and seek, pickleball, tatting, wreath making, plumbing, mediating, bowling, political essay writing, snow ball fighting, and hat collecting. On the last Monday of each month, we will pick a subject to do a deep dive with our cats. This month our topic will be the History of Gregorian Chants. The cats will have an opportunity at the end of the presentation to paint their interpretation of their favorite chant. We would love for you and your cat (or cats) to join us!
