34 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2021 | Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers The ladies have been very busy now that summer has arrived and our Sun Lakes community is opened. They performed for Charity Week and Sun Lakes Playhouse's "That's Entertainment." This mini show was broadcast on channel 97, Good Day Sun Lakes and on the YouTube channel. Makua Hula has also been invited to perform at the upcoming awards ceremony to be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Aug. 7 at 2 pm and will also be entertaining at a district party. For now, the ladies will be rehearsing for the upcoming Follies Show "Sun Lakes Does Vegas" on Oct. 1, 2 and 3. We hope to see you all there. If you are interested in dancing or just exercising, Hula is for you! We meet on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the North Clubhouse and on Saturdays from 8 to 10 am at the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, stage side. Throughout the years as a member of IDS, she has shown confidence, tenacity, loyalty, and grace in her quiet, steady manner. We welcome Beverly as our new director. Diane Rossovich has been an asset to IDS for the past two years, and we are grateful for the leadership she has provided. All class schedules have resumed this summer, and all dancers are eager to meet, to dance, and to share ideas and costume design for future performances. Come and join us. No dance experience is necessary, and all Sun Lakes residents are welcome even if you simply want exercise, improved balance, and enjoy the comradeship of other women.
