36 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2021 | Normal. Yes you read correctly: NORMAL! Over the past sixteen months normal was a rarely used word. Everyone's wish was to return to "normal." If you have been waiting to join the Sun Lakes Creative Writers Group, now is the time. Meetings are held on the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month, so a look at your calendar will make our next meetings on Aug. 2 and 18. Like most of us, you probably stopped checking the days off on your calendar months ago. Your calendar was beginning to look like the wall in a prison movie. Clockwise (hope that's a real word) meetings begin at 3 pm. If you are wondering where, try the Sun Lakes Main Clubhouse Room of Multi-purposes. Meetings are exciting and could go on until 5 pm before they kick us out. The group is growing, with new members, as well as old (shouldn't have said "old"), reading their writings to the group for approval, gentle critiques, laughs and often a few tears. Seating in the room is limited, so with rising interest in the group it would be wise for you to call first if you are a new member. And please, vaccination is required. Our writers have shown amazing growth and some have published books, written articles for our local newspapers and even had poetry printed in the Gazette's new poetry column. Back at the top of this the word NORMAL doesn't really apply to someone who sits around writing all day.
