Do you enjoy having a relaxed game of golf? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may wish to join our Saturday Morning Golf Group. We play on the Executive Course. Our membership includes men and women with a large range of handicaps. Our members share a love of the game. We have shotgun starts. Most of the year, October through June, the check in time is 8:30 am with a 9 am shotgun. In the summer, July through September, the check in time is 8 am with an 8:30 am shotgun. We hold monthly tournaments, an annual Club Championship competition, and quarterly dinners. Membership application forms are available in the North Pro Shop. Annual dues are only $15. Please contact our Membership Chair, Randy Eden at (951) 292-8125, for additional information. We welcome new members. Lady Executive Golf Welcome to Lady Executive golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9 hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18 hole tournaments and "away" games a few times during the year. From October through June we meet at 8:30 am with tee times at 9 am. From July to October we meet at 7:30 am with tee times at 8 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch at the South Clubhouse. Guests are welcome! Lady Niners This has been an ideal time to play nine holes of golf. We are teeing off early enough in the morning so we miss the heat of the day. We can still carry our GHIN handicaps, as GHIN just combines two of our rounds to give them a complete score. Thus, we can continue to play in other golf tournaments both at Sun Lakes and elsewhere. Our Tournament Chair always sets up our Thursday with a Scramble, a fun game and/or several regular rounds for the month. We have a Cup Day, our Eclectic, a Club Championship, and a Member/Guest. Our Social Chair is always busy setting up get-togethers and parties to help us celebrate holidays and special golfing events. Our members enjoy our Thursdays together. Women's Golf The PGA of America is made up of nearly 29,000 PGA professionals. The odds of a professional golfer making a hole in one is 2,500 to 1. Imagine the excitement when on July 1, a player in your foursome made a hole in one. Ask Diane Vecchione, Joyce Close, or Michele Walter because they were there to witness the moment. Yes, Joan Glenn made a hole in one. Our club celebrates all members who make a hole in one. We congratulate Joan Glenn as she holed her drive on hole #8 during a club game on the Championship Course. We are participating in the Summer Games on Aug. 5. The game will be a Scramble with a twist at 8:30 am. For additional information, please call JoAnn Nevins at (951) 846-9910. It should be fun for all. After golf, we will gather for our general meeting in the South Clubhouse at 12:30 pm. Pack a sack lunch and bring a beverage. We will send our first, second, and third place winners to the awards ceremony in the Main Clubhouse on Aug. 7. Additional August games are Low Gross/Low Net on the 12th, and the game Blind Nine will be played on the 19th. In our last game of the month, we will play the Sweepstakes Tournament. It's a two-day event. On day one, Wed., Aug. 25 at 1:30 pm, we have a Shootout starting on hole #10 on the Championship Course. Following at 5 pm, our Pairings Party will be held at the South Clubhouse. Then, on Thurs., Aug. 26, we have the golf tournament with a shotgun start at 7:30 am. This tournament is one of our most popular events. Mo Farra and Sandy Cooper will coordinate both days.
