Our Independence Day Celebration was so much fun. The Golf
Cart Club started the day off with a parade of about 30 carts. Thanks
to Donna and Mike McLaughlin for organizing this again (and with
breakfast treats!). Our evening event was a great success thanks to
Co-chairs Patty Jones and Margie Culton and their many volunteers!
We had boxed dinners of chicken and ribs, cornbread and baked
beans, along with a brown bag with potato salad, coleslaw and a
slice of cake. The line went very quickly as you were just handed
the pre-packaged food. Russ Brown served as emcee for the events
on the Plaza. The Riverside County Sheriff 's Department Volunteer
Mounted Posse presented the colors. It was so cool. After that we had
the presentation of each military flag, the POW flag and of course the
flag of the United States of America. We even had a bi-plane flyover!
After that we all enjoyed the music of One 2 Many and danced until 9
pm. It was so wonderful to see so many people together again. Thank
you for supporting this event.
