The Library Committee is excited to announce our return to normalcy, whatever that may be. You can now bring your magazines to share and you are welcome to enter without a mask. The magazines must be dated within the last three months of this year. Our biggest announcement is the return of the library's "Authors Talks." So long ago Vicki Hitt was scheduled to speak regarding her book, Family Matters, but just days before her talk everything shut down. Vicki will be our first speaker. This gathering will occur in September. We will keep you up to date. Please attend to support our Four Seasons authors. We have a copy of her book in the library to check out. We recently had a wonderful donation of Pamela Mays', Secret Seahorse Tales, both hardbound and soft cover. They are delightful as you can see from the picture. I displayed the hardbound copy and it was taken from the library immediately, probably to share with grandchildren. Please return the book so others may enjoy it. You may purchase the book from the author. Another Four Seasons author! Our current displayed paperbacks have always been of the last five years, but we cannot fit in all the books. There are so many new 2020 and 2021 paperbacks, that to display them properly we are now displaying the years 2017- 2021. We work hard to keep books current. The hardbound fiction books have been adjusted to 2013-2021. With your generosity we may need to remove one more year. Our LARGE PRINT books have a GREEN dot for identification, on the binder, and they have now been placed on the shelves with the other fiction books. Our nonfiction books are not displayed by years. We have both autobiographical and nonfiction topics. Be sure to check them out under the paperbacks. Let's talk puzzles for a minute! If you have a puzzle without a bag for the pieces, please use one of your bags to put the pieces in. Many puzzles have non secured tops and we have found pieces sitting on the table or on the carpet. I always tape my returning puzzle box shut and I use a bag for the pieces to keep everything secure. We would appreciate your help! Reading brings people into your life. Open that book! Until next month… Cookie Thoughts from Blair; "A library outranks any other one thing a community can do to benefit its people. It is a never failing spring in the desert." ~ Andrew Carnegie 16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2021 | Library Committee
