| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2021 | 23 Not only is summer now in full swing, but so is Four Seasons! Happy and blooming are we to get back together once again, enjoying each other's company face to face! The past 15 plus months is one time in our lives where no one is wishing for a do-over! Like our gardens, the tilling is over and the planting of new memories is a welcome change. We finally were able to hold our first "live" meeting on July 12 in the Arts & Crafts Room, announced via eBlast and our member email roster. For those able to make it, a good time was held by all. Unfortunately, we've lost a few members to relocation, and some to "doing other things," but all in all, it was fun to catch up on everyone's latest garden experience. Brainstorming new ideas and exploring exciting new trips was at the top of the agenda. Given the timing from July's meeting, (prior to this printing) and to our regular scheduled meeting on Aug. 9, any changes will be covered via eBlast. We hope to see all of you on the 9th, as well as any new faces wishing to stop by and check us out. All Four Seasons Residents are welcome ~ no previous gardening experience required! Late Bloomers meets every second Monday at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. (Schedule is posted on the Calendar Page in every Herald issue.) For more information, please contact Sharon Deuber at (760) 500-0077 or Sharon@BlackDiamondInvestments.net. Late Bloomers Garden Club Ahhh Summer! Happy Campers RV Club Happy Campers will be meeting on Aug. 7 in The Lodge at 10 am. We will be going over our upcoming trip to Pismo Beach. Bring your ideas and plans for fall and winter trips. I hope you have all been out enjoying our wonderful weather. It has been a great summer so far for camping and traveling. We look forward to hearing about your adventures. Please send write ups and pictures to swindell41181@yahoo. com so we can share them in the Herald. John Swindell and I spent a week at Yosemite Lakes in June. The falls were full of water; John caught a few trout and we even saw a bear! Happy Campers is open to all residents and meets the first Saturday of every month. We meet in The Lodge at 10 am. Hope to see you there In the meantime, be safe and happy camping. Half Dome Yosemite Golf Cart Club It was a busy six weeks for the Golf Club, especially for the Flag Angels, almost 1,800 flags three times (Memorial Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July). The Fourth of July Parade was on July 3 to mesh with the Social Committee's "to do." We added a few new features… a pace car and a grand marshal. Jack Harrington provided the pace car and Russ Brown "volunteered" (with some strong arming from yours truly) to be the grand marshal. The new Flag Angels were terrific. Irene Chapman who took over for Don Sims and super subs Debbie and Larry Foster and Bob and Linda Morriss were "most excellent." Bob had to overcome a few challenges that all Angels confront over time: baptism by fire! Donna and I put up the Field of Honor around the circle in front of The Lodge and posted flags along the entrance to The Lodge with a lot of help from Tim, The Lodge's handyman. The Cart Club was tasked with the posting of colors of the military branches for the July 4th "to do" at The Lodge and got a lot of help from Russ Brown as emcee and the flag bearers: Cecil Frazier, Hanks Schultz, Bob Vargo, Donnie Brown, Bill Johnson, Rick Dennis, Chuck Chase, and Roy Brennan. I continue to need volunteers for Flag Angels. If you can help, it would be very much appreciated. If you want to become a Flag Angel or have any comments/suggestions or want to join the Golf Cart Club, give me a call or an email.
