Social Committee As we all know, there is satisfaction in a job well done and the Social Committee is experiencing a lot of satisfaction after our Annual Fashion Show. I believe that this is one of the best events we have ever put together, and we have had some very nice events in the past. The Ballroom looked amazing. The committee really outdid themselves this time. The theme was a 'Mad Hatter Tea' with the tables being done up in hand-painted tea pots and whimsical mushrooms that were incredible. There were also pots scattered around sprouting colorful flowers. Each table carried a different color theme with plates, napkins and accessories following with that theme. To top all of this was an arch of playing cards. The tea pots and mushrooms were all painted by Pam Mayoral and her ceramics class here at Four Seasons. They started months ago to make this event a dream come true. The pots were all different shapes and painted designs and each totally unique. There were also large paper flowers lining the big mirror at the front of the ballroom and also hanging from The models: Kathy Roach, Melody Seewoster, Pam Mayoral, Laverne Prophet, Teri Meyers-Kelman, Gail Harker, Verlette Brummell, Leslie Diamond and Barbara Morton. The beautiful items were all handcrafted by the committee and the ceramics class. the lighting fixtures. After the event the tea pots were available for sale. Bernadette Chance coordinated the fashion show and did an outstanding job working with the models and keeping us in line. She even matched the models to the music as we walked down the runway so we would really "feel" the mood and have some fun with it. I would like to thank all of our models, Laverne Prophet, Leslie Diamond, Gail Harker, Verlette Brummell, Teri Myer-Kelman, Pam Mayoral, Barbara Morton, and Kathleen Roach for participating in our show and hope they had a good time. Chico's supplied a nice variety of clothes to showcase and were a big help in getting us ready for our walk down the runway. The food was wonderful and plentiful and the only complaint I heard is that there was way too much of it. Thank you Smitty, Cathy, Kelly and the rest of the Bistro staff for doing their usual great job. Also, a big thanks to the Event Systems Committee for setting up the stage and runway for us. It is so much better than the way we use to do it. We also had independent vendors selling jewelry, purses and wigs and, by the look of things, they did a brisk business. What can I say about Activities Director Cindy Graves that I have not said a dozen times? Thank you from everyone in the committee for all the hard work you do to make our events better and better. The commentary you do for the fashion show is great, I think you should have been a fiction writer and I wish we were all as exciting and wonderful as you make us sound. Don't forget the Candid Camera Show is coming up in August. For only $10, you will have a wonderful evening.
