The 8-Ball Club Our team always has fun practicing and playing pool together. In tournament action this month, Kenny Payne took the 8-Ball honors for the month and Pete Antoine won the 9-Ball contest. For the Fourth of July, we will have team member pairs completion. Each member will pull peas to choose a partner then we will commence double elimination play until a winning pair emerges. Good luck to all participants! Our annual mid-summer Pot Luck and Bar-B-Que party is scheduled for the 14th of July in the Ballroom. Chicken and Pork Chops, soft drinks and water will be provided from club funds. Club members please sign up to attend and list your side dish, salad or dessert that you will contribute. Of course your guest is also included in this invitation. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board in the Billiards Room. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. In-house 8-Ball tournament is on the second Wednesday at 7 pm. In-house 9-Ball tournament is on the third Saturday of the month at 1 pm. Our "traveling tournaments" are nights when we either go to other nearby communities or host those communities here for team tournaments usually on Monday. Check the message board in the Billiards Room for dates and locations. ~ Thanh Harrah Kenny Payne (left) and Dennis Cleveland Billiards for Fun No, we don't use guns for shooting, and usually there's minimal explosive noise, but we do shoot, nonetheless. (See photo Nos. 2-6, Mike Olsen, Brian Anderson, Bob Kemp, Mike Saperstein, and Pete Antoine.) There's lots of laughter and fun, as group members challenge each other for the win. Partners are paired by pulling peas, and table winners rotate. Members sometimes even pose for pictures (see photo 7, John Johnson, Mike Saperstein, Ron Erickson and Rich Meumann). We are continuing our bi-monthly potluck, and new friendships and general camaraderie flourish. Come by and check us out every Tuesday from 1 pm to 3 pm in the lovely air-conditioned Billiards Room.
