See ya' on the links! | THE COLONY NEWS | AUGUST 2021 | 37 CLUB NEWS Jack & Jill By Judy Lebovitz, 461-0065 I hope everyone had a happy and safe Fourth of July! Our first golf club luncheon/meeting since the pandemic began was held in the Auditorium on July 6. It was so nice getting back to meeting and socializing with our golfing friends again. Everyone in the club was invited, including Associate Members. We enjoyed boxed lunches from Which Wich, and dessert was a beautiful sheet cake welcoming us all back! We handed out golf balls for the most birdies and chip-ins for the last quarter, and also handed out our Ringer monies for this last quarter. Several of our new members received money, and a First Birdie pin was presented to Vicky Cornille, one of our new members. Congratulations, Vicky! We will be having our annual charity tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 5, from which all monies will be given to our two charities, Michelle's Place and Hospice of the Valley. Plans are underway to prepare for this special tournament. If anyone is interested in playing, please contact me or Tournament Chair Ann Hartwig at 696-5115. It will be a fun Scramble format and no handicaps are required. We will have a luncheon after golf, and it's always a fun and rewarding day. If you are interested in joining our club, either 9 holes or 18 holes, please contact me or our Membership Chair, Maureen Herzberg, at 677-4717. Stay cool and see you on the links! Ladies Golf
