Remember that the Annual Meeting of the Association will be in Abravanel Hall on Thurs., Aug. 19. Enjoy this wonderful San Diego summer! And thank you for your interest in the affairs of your Association! GM's Message By Wendy Panizza We are so pleased to be meeting in person with the Boards and Committees again after about 16 months of shutdown! COVID has introduced some new normal expectations, so this Board meeting is now assessable via in person, via Zoom and broadcast live on Channel 1960. What a wonderful opportunity for all community members to participate! I am excited to announce the promotion of Blanca Reyes to the Senior Administrative Assistant position. Blanca has proven to have excellent communication and administrative skills, temperament, and enthusiasm needed to fill a role that is up front and personal with the Master Board of Directors, and I look forward to her continued growth at OHCC and with Keystone. Please join me in congratulating Blanca in this well-deserved promotion! Much to the chagrin of both the RV Lot and Citation Review Committees in losing Blanca as their Staff Liaison, I am pleased to report that Administrative Assistant Araceli Vera has eagerly embraced the opportunity to take over Blanca's extensive job duties, including the fine work of both of these committees. Araceli, too, has demonstrated excellent administrative skills, and has been working with Blanca to cover all necessary job functions of the HOA office in the temporary absence of our HOA Office Manager. She has been cross-training with Blanca for committee support, and we are so pleased she is able to step directly into this new role. Congratulations Araceli! I am also very pleased to announce that Angie Ripsco has been named Team Member of the Month by Keystone corporate! Angie's had the challenge of a lifetime this past couple of months initiating a new reservation system, inputting over 12,000 new reservations for 2021-2022, plus averaging 700 programs a month, as the Ocean Hills Clubhouse begins to reopen. No reservations were taken last year, so with each day came new developments regarding the restrictions. This came with an intense week of training to gather all the necessary tools to launch the program. Angie has prioritized and organized her efforts to get OHCC back in business. She is highly skilled in problem solving and pays attention to the details. The demand is high and the expectations are over the top but Angie remains organized and focused. Angie is very deserving of the Team Member of the Month award. Congratulations Angie! Of course, the golf course renovations continue, and we appreciate your cooperation to stay out of the construction zones. We are also working on scheduling the massive paint project coming up, and are working to develop this year's pavement management plan. As approved by the Board, we have engaged the services of the Golf Irrigation Consultants to complete an extensive review and assessment of our aging Toro Lynx Irrigation Management System. I know the Master Board and all Villages are looking forward to having an irrigation system for common areas and front yards that works properly and efficiently. On a final note re: staffing, like many industries, we are having trouble with maintaining staffing levels. For the HOA, we are now down to two maintenance workers, and are short by one administrative assistant; and the Clubhouse continues to advertise for a part time facilities person. We continue to cover for our temporarily absent Office Manager, and appreciate the community's patience through all of this!
