social singles Our July dinner meeting is Fri., July 12, at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 pm. "I'M A YANKEE DOODLE DANDY." Come join us to celebrate America's birthday! Fried chicken, baked beans, corn bread, potato salad, cobbler, sweet tea and lemonade catered by a wonderful new caterer, Anita Baker. Sun Lakes own Nancy Ford will be singing all of our favorite songs. All this for $13 pp! Guests are $15. If you live in Sun Lakes, you may come as a guest one time only, and then you must join the club for $10. Guests living outside of Sun Lakes are welcome at $15 pp. Due to the desirability of our club, we can only accommodate 99 people in the South Clubhouse for our dinner meetings, so your attendance will be on a first come first serve basis. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop your checks to Betty McMillion, 5549 Pinehurst Dr., 769-6636. Those who want to sit together should put their checks in one envelope. If you have signed up for the dinner meeting and are unable to attend, PLEASE call Betty McMillion so she may give your reservation to someone on the wait list. You will receive your money back. Wine tasting after lunch… four different kinds of wine for $15. Then spend time in quaint old town Temecula. A wonderful Sunday afternoon. July 9: MOVIE – SOUTH CLUBHOUSE, "DEFENDING YOUR LIFE" $2. 2:30 pm. Romantic comedy-fantasy about a man who dies and arrives in the afterlife only to find that he must stand trial and justify his lifelong fears in order to advance to the next phase of life (or death). Starring Albert Brooks, Meryl Streep, Rip Torn and Lee Grant. Popcorn, donut holes and coffee. No reservations needed. ALL SUN LAKERS WELCOME! July 14: "LUNCH AT BEA DIMATTEO'S HOME," 12 pm. Bea is a fantastic china painting artist and she has graciously opened her home to us to see her wonderful work. We will also be having lunch. July 18: "THURS. CRAZY 8 DINNER," 5:30 pm. Dining room, RSVP Patty Joeb, 769-7008 by 7/15. July 19: "A NIGHT OF GILBERT & SULLIVAN & OPERA FAVORITES," Redlands Bowl. FREE! Leave at 6 pm. Bring dinner, if you like. July 21: "7 BRIDES FOR 7 BROTHERS," $18. Leave at 1:30 pm. Lifehouse Theater, Redlands. A backwoodsman named Adam Pontipee and his new bride Milly, agree to marry after knowing each other only a few hours. Aug. 4: "THE HORIZON CHAMBER PLAYERS," 2 pm, $10, Ballroom. Featuring violinist Maki Sowash joined by her friends from Japan, bring the virtuosity and beauty of classical music to the stage.
