genealogical society Our meetings are held at 1 pm on the 4th Wednesday of the month in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. On May 22, Jean Hibben, presented an interesting program. What is Genealogy ? Names, Dates and Places. What is Family History? Making the information interesting by "Telling the stories." This program put a new twist on what we keep hearing, "Tell the Story." We always hear that stories make ancestors real and sometimes we have to amend the stories that aren't quite factual. Her presentation made us feel as if we really knew her ancestor. Her husband, Butch Hibben, told us about a new program that is an audio. Living Legacy. On July 24, our speaker will be, Larry Bowles, a professional genealogist and interesting speaker. A few years ago our Society went to the Hemet Library to hear him speak. In July he will be visiting us in Sun Lakes. Our knowledgeable guest speakers give you tips and tricks for research, as well as, providing numerous web sites where you can do your searching. A family tree is a gift to family members that just keeps on giving! At the meetings, you learn to research your family tree on the Internet, in libraries, at the National Archives, and at family history centers. Annual membership is only $15 per family. Come visit us on July 24, it might inspire you to start working on your tree. Meditation, an integral part of proceeding on a path of Self (God) – Realization, promises to do just that. When the mind with its myriad thoughts becomes quiet and still, we can feel what lies beyond. The Pure, Non-Dual (only ONE) Consciousness lies beyond and is our True Eternal Being. Satsang (group meeting with a spiritual aim) begins with a 15 minute meditation followed by a discourse, the subject of which is given below. A short video clip is also presented by a teacher adhering to the same teaching of Non-Duality. Questions are warmly encouraged and satsang concludes with a 5 minute silent meditation.
