32 | OHCC LIVING | SEPTEMBER 2021 |
Village Vets
For our August meeting, our guest speaker was Alex Poddoubnyi
who had a great story to tell. The meeting was well attended, and we
were able to bring our members up to date on the club's status.
For September, we are planning an off-site visit, on Sept. 10 to visit
the 1st ANGLICO Company compound at Camp Pendleton. This
is the Company that we work with on Veteran's Day and with our
holiday party. They have a unique assignment for the Marine Corps
and often work in smaller groups with allied foreign military units.
We will get a briefing and review some of their equipment and will be
having lunch with the troops. It will be an interesting experience. We
will be meeting at the overflow parking lot on the morning of Sept.
10. More details will be provided to those that are expected to attend.
We are also planning to have our member's holiday party this year
on Sat., Dec. 11 with live music, Marines and Navy guests attending
at each table, as we have had in years past. Dinner is planned to be
catered by Bobby's Hideaway. So please hold the date open and we
will have more details soon.
We also continue to provide our monthly Bugle publication both
online and delivered to homes, as well as meetings in Abravanel Hall
with guest speakers of interest to veterans and our supporters.
