September 2021. Taking a little time to pause and reflect on the last 20 years. It doesn't seem like it was 20 years ago the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 took place. Our nation came together united to help and support each other during a time so many lives were changed forever. Today it seems like there is so much pulling everyone in different directions and I can't help but see how much we as people need each other each day. Never Forget, is the motto for us to remember those who lost their lives that day. Never forget how scared we were; never forget how we came together. Each one of us can live up to that promise by simply being of service to others. Make a commitment to yourself to improve your community. Coming together this summer for Music on the Plaza has been a blast. Toe tapping, hand clapping and butt shaking! The concerts have been fun and we broke a couple of attendance records with the first one with 469 tickets sold! There is one final Music on the Plaza Sept. 21. The Oreo Divas are three remarkable songstresses who celebrate hit music from the past five decades. Their wide variety of songs range from the Andrews Sisters to the Pointer Sisters. The Movies Under the Stars were a great way to relax and enjoy the company of friends and neighbors; thank you to the Social Committee for providing snacks! The Social Committee is presenting a few great opportunities this fall to keep the party going. A Motown Dance Party on Sept. 7 and a concert with Stone Soul (back by popular demand) Oct. 2. Of course, New Year's Eve plans are under way. The Four Seasons Players are working on a production to present to the community as long as they are able. An Arts and Crafts Show/Sale will be on Sat., Nov. 6, 10 am - 2 pm in the Ballroom. Resident artists and crafters will display items for sale and the general public can come in for shopping. If you are interested, please contact Royce Jermain for art and Alison Wieman for crafts. Silver Lining Travel will be offering bus trips to our residents with pick-up and drop-offs at The Lodge. Keep your eyes open for these postings in The Lodge and in emails. Residents are getting together to form new clubs and breathe life into older ones. If you have an interest that you would like to see added, pick up a Create-a-Club form from the front desk and get started. Keep checking your emails for the latest updates; this is the most efficient way to communicate within our community. If you are not receiving them, please contact me so we can add you in or troubleshoot the problem. Before you call, try looking in your spam, clutter or bulk email folders. The emails I send are often rerouted by your email carrier to these folders and not your inbox. Let's continue coming together and creating all the great memories! 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2021 | From Your Activities Director By Tracie Rodgers Tuesday, Sept. 7 on the Plaza $10 per person Dance Dance Party with Party with Motown Motown Soundz Soundz
