12 12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2021 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2021 | How can it possibly be September? That means it's almost Christmas! Books make the best presents so start your shopping early. And don't forget one for your Four Season's library. The Library Committee worked very hard to cull the 2012 hardcover fiction books. We found 1998, 2008, and 2009 books that also needed to go. We went from not being able to work in new donations to looking empty! At this time we are displaying 2013- 2021 hardbound fiction books. Please check your house for our library books, several books are missing. The paperback books are displayed from 2017-2021 and we can barely work in all the returns. We might need to remove some 2017 books. Not complaining… keep those donations coming. Writing a month in advance is certainly a challenge during these times. A month ago I reported the Large Print books were mixed in with hardbound fiction. We had many paperback LARGE PRINT that just could not be put in the hardbound section. It was decided to move all LP to the cabinets under the paperbacks. I purchased a label (sign) to help you find them. Look to the far right side near the magazine rack. Magazines must be dated within the last three months of this year. We are getting a slow start on building our selection. Remember, when you finish reading yours, bring them up to our library! We have a wonderful collection of non-fiction books. We have both autobiographical and nonfiction topics. Be sure to check them out under the paperbacks. Thank you for helping by taping your puzzle boxes before returning them. It has made a big difference in keeping the pieces where they belong — in the box! I do hope you were able to support Vicki Hitt for our first returning Author's Talks. Hopefully we were allowed to hold it. Our loyalties are with our Four Seasons writers. They will always be invited first but we have had several authors outside of Four Seasons speak as well. At present I am reading, Henry Samson, Finder of Wrongdoing. A newly published book by H.F. Jefferson. (You know him as Howard Feigenbaum.) As soon as I am done it will be in the library to borrow. Reading brings people into your life. Open that book! Until next month… Cookie Thoughts from Blair; "Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life. Libraries change lives for the better." ~ Sidney Sheldon Library Committee
