22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2021 | Good news is we can be together again, bad news is we cannot begin our Shuffleboard season due to construction issues. The materials are delayed, and the committee agreed we did not want to start the season and then have to stop. BUT don't give up hope. We began playing on Aug. 12 at 8:30 am and are hoping more of the community will join us. It is not official league play just anyone that would like to play, no fee and no commitment. Play the Thursdays you are available. We will do this until the construction starts. Try it, you may like it. If you don't have a partner, I am sure we can find you one. As always there is a small Monday/Friday group that plays starting at 8:30 am. They are always looking for people to join them. You can always check out equipment and play on your own. Just stop by The Lodge and the attendant will explain the procedure. Remember to not put too much cornmeal mixture on the courts or walk on the courts. It is extremely dangerous. Please feel free to call me, Toni Harris, at (951) 325-8357. Shuffleboard Now this is a difficult article for me to write. As many of you know my husband, Dennis Harris, passed away July 6. This being said we desperately need someone to take over the position of chairman. It doesn't have to come from the committee. The position can be filled by any resident. It's not as scary as you might think. You would have the committee's support and help. The 2020 season would have been Dennis' first season as the chairman, but he played for many years. If we can't find someone to fill the position, I am sad to say we will not have a Bocce season again in March. If you would like to play on your own, you can check out equipment in The Lodge. An attendant will be happy to explain the procedure. ~ Toni Harris We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice on Saturday mornings at 8 am. Horseshoes Billiards Bocce Come join fellow community members every Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm for friendly play. Never played before? We are here to help. Fun Fact - Billiards was the first sport to have a World Championship in 1873! Our Four Seasons' team practice is held every Tuesday morning at 10 am. The team is preparing for the Hemet Valley League play that begins in October. If you have any questions, please call Ron Cordero at (909) 519- 9095 or Art Martel at (909) 973-8208. Pickleball Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome!
