8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2021 | Your EPC* and CERT** members had an active month of August. On Aug. 23 you probably saw a lot of action by our Four Seasons CERT members. That day we were having a Simulated Emergency Test (SET) Exercise to practice activation, actions and responses in event of a wildfire approaching our Four Seasons community from Reinhardt Canyon. Speaking of mitigating fire, now is a great time to make sure that your in-home fire detectors are current and up to date. As you know they expire after so many years. On Aug. 27 - 29 Riverside County presented Free CERT training for those who were pre-registered right here at Four Seasons in our Lodge. *Emergency Preparedness Committee **Community Emergency Response Team Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/cert-volunteer Learn how to prepare at fscert.org. Plan. Prepare. Survive. You can help yourself. Emergency Preparedness Committee Facilities Committee We're getting older! Our community is about 13 years young. It's beauty has matured and the need for continued maintenance continues. Because of the cost of material and labor needed has increased, planning new projects has taken second place to keeping our public places pristine. Lighting walking venues, repairing the fences around our community, the pool equipment, the streets, The Lodge, are all examples of areas we are constantly watching, and when necessary spending your funds to keep them in good repair. This is important for our enjoyment, but also, to keep the value of our homes high. We, the Facilities Committee, will continue to monitor all the public areas and fix and repair as necessary. If you have experience and are willing to devote some time to these goals, why don't you lend us your expertise and join the committee? You will be welcome!
