Happy Cookers
In many areas of our
country, people start thinking
of fall recipes in September. That might
be a little premature in Southern California.
The Happy Cookers Sept. 24 meeting will
highlight chilled soups. The program
includes gazpacho demonstrated
by Mary Miller, a fruit soup demonstrated by Wendy
Ditchfield, and a yogurt soup demonstrated by Siran
Alajian. There might even be a tasting of Pumpkin soup.
The opening meeting of Happy Cookers was a smash
hit. Ocean and Winnie the Pooh themed picnic tables
were displayed. Picnic-planning ideas were shared
and guest speakers from Albertsons gave a wonderful
presentation. Along with sharing bags of goodies,
Albertsons described their new order online and pick-
up groceries program called Drive Up & Go. Members
were treated to each other's delicious samples of picnic
favorites. It has been invigorating to see old friends and
make new ones. The most recent meeting highlighting
Dog Days of Summer was another delectable tasting
of hot dog toppings and sides. Join us in the South
Clubhouse on the fourth Friday of each month at 11 am
and see just how happy we are.
