FIA will be involved in several community events that relate
to our mission: to assist in the short-term and long-term needs
of the low income and homeless population in the Banning and
Beaumont area.
The Fill the Bus event (photo at right) was a huge success thanks
to the generosity of Sun Lakes residents.
The next major events for Faith in Action is a Rental Assistance
event which will take place at the Banning Community Center on
Oct. 2. Rise to Lyft will train FIA volunteers to assist with the intake
process for those needing rental assistance in the community.
A major goal is to establish a Navigation Center in Banning.
A Navigation Center is a place where low income and homeless
individuals/families can get assistance with programs/resources
(housing, rent and utility assistance, WIC, SNAP, medical, mental
and behavioral health, assistance with government programs,
etc.) through assisted phone and computer access, one-on-one
informal case management and caring volunteers.
If you believe in social justice and equity for all, we need you!
Please come to an upcoming meeting and we will put your senior
skills to work. Join us Sept. 19, 2 to 3:15 pm in the Main Clubhouse
Multipurpose Room. Questions? Email info@fiasgp.org or go to
our website at www.fia-sgp.org. You can donate at https://gofund.
