52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2021 Quilting Enthusiasts The Four Seasons Quilting Enthusiasts had a great meeting in August. There were lots of quilts shown by the members and an amazing show and tell. Dates were scheduled for September and October sit-n-sew for charities. Discussion turned to the Four Seasons Quilting Enthusiasts and Hand Makers Show on Nov. 6 in the Ballroom. The knitters, crocheter's, and tatting ladies have agreed to join us in sharing their beautiful handmade items. We understand that one of the ladies who lives here creates beautiful handmade doll clothes, and we are hoping that she will agree to display her work. We now have several quilts of various sizes ready to be machine quilted by our local "Long-armers" here. The plan is to have the first set of quilts completed to donate in October. A former quilter, Mary Martin, had read the article in the last issue of the Breeze and donated five totes of fabric, some precut squares, and yardage for the charity projects, as well as some batting. We want to say a huge THANK YOU for this generous donation. They are much appreciated. Our September meeting has been postponed until Sept. 12, due to the Labor Day holiday, so PLEASE mark your calendars with this new date. The next sit-n-sew is Sept. 19 from 12 noon until 5 pm. Bring your sewing machine, lunch, something to drink, and come enjoy the laughter and fun. We also would like to welcome a new member, Karen Cabrera! Our next meeting is Oct. 3, with an October sit-n-sew scheduled for Oct. 17, 12 to 5 pm. The week of Oct. 31 we will start collecting quilts for the quilt show with set-up happening on Friday night and into Saturday morning. All quilts and items to be displayed must be "logged in and a number assigned to them." The Quilt Show will open at 10 am to 2 pm on Nov. 6, to all Four Seasons residents and their guests. More details to follow. If you would like to help setting up the Quilt Show, please contact Mary M. Moody-Cox, (808) 430- 7469, email marymoodycox@gmail.com. As the quilters say, "Many hands make light work." ~ Mary M. Moody-Cox Moody-Cox, quilted fabric portrait Susan Hagerman's charity quilt Janet West, new to Four Seasons
