FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2021 7 By Cindy Graves It's September, and supposedly fall, but the weather is still screaming summertime and so are our events. In fact, our first September event is an outdoor Magic Show in the Amphitheater, on Saturday, Sept. 4. As of this writing the time has yet to be determined, so keep your eyes peeled on the Activities Blast and The Lodge for the time. This magic show is what is called "Big Magic" versus "Table Magic." It will be put on by our wonderful friends of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Everyone is welcome and there is no cost to attend. Chairs can be placed at the Amphitheater after 7:30 am on Saturday. Please also remember to bring plastic containers rather than glass. The next event being planned is the Steel Drum Sultry Summer Social. This end-of-summer get together on Friday, Sept. 10 (time TBD) promises to be the perfect memory-making opportunity to meet new neighbors, hear a great steel drum band, eat, and dance under the stars. This event will take place on The Lodge Loggia in front of the fountain. Folks can bring their own picnic dinner from home or purchase an event-themed dinner box from the Kopper Kettle. There will also be some "Meet your Neighbors" games with prizes. On Saturday, Sept. 11, we have another "Barn Burner" dance for you line dance fanatics. Thank you Janine and Dave Rohrbacker, for organizing this dynamic dance. This will be in The Lodge Ballroom and everyone is invited. Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and food. Tickets are not required. On Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7 pm is our Amphitheater Concert Series Grand Finale with the fun and interactive band called "Beach Street A-Go-Go." They play great 60s and 70s music with costume changes. They are super fun to watch and listen to. As of last month, your chair placement time has been revised to 7:30 am. Yes, you may bring your chairs down that early! Charles Caldera won the "Early Bird Award" last month for being in line to set his chair up at 4 am! That is true dedication. If Disco Fever is your thing, boogie on down to The Lodge on Friday, Sept. 24 at 6 pm. Elizabeth and Phil Westbrook are heading up this 70s "Far-Out" dance event. Put on your finest disco wear and meet us in the Ballroom. There is no fee for admittance and everyone is welcome. For you Four Seasons singers, Karaoke will be taking place at The Lodge on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 5:30 pm. If you're new to Four Seasons Karaoke, I think you'll be amazed at the talent we have here. If it's your first time trying Karaoke, you'll be relieved that the audience is super supportive and encouraging for newbies. It's a great environment to start your Karaoke singing career! Everyone is welcome and food and drinks are allowed to be brought in. Well, that's a brief recap of what is going on in the community this month. I'm looking forward to seeing you all around The Lodge!
