FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2021 71 Join us for an afternoon of friendship and fun while playing a game of Hand and Foot Canasta. We meet Thursdays in the RCN Main Room from 12:45 to 4 pm. Table assignments are distributed at 12:45 pm. Each week you may play with someone different, giving you an opportunity to meet new friends and/or visit with old friends. We supply the cards, so just bring yourself and a desire to have fun. If you don't know how to play, we are always happy to set up a teaching table — by the end of the afternoon you will have mastered the game. Join us. ~ Pam Morales Three Thirteen 20,000 Canasta Three Thirteen continues to grow in numbers as we settle back into some serious play… Who are we kidding? While some of us remain seriously competitive, most of us are still trying to catch up on all the interesting stories we missed for the past year, enjoying the conversations and forgetting what wild card we are on! The end of July table winners are Donna Gilbreth with a low 43, followed closely by Caryn McSweeney with a 45. Sue Barker and Jerry Monahan stayed close with a 61 and 62, respectively. Charlie Leger took a win with 87, Frances Monahan had a 93, and Donna Hendzel scored a 96. Caryn continued on her winning streak the beginning of August with two table wins of 51 and 87. Linda Clark also dominated her table with scores of 48 and 64. Frances won with a 48 and Sue took the other game with a 60. Jerry and John Clark split their table wins with a 72 and 101. Welcome to new player Terri Parque. We hope you enjoyed learning the game and we do hope you will return — I promise, Patty's bark is worse than her bite. Please remember we start the game at 3 pm on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in The Lodge Game Room. Everyone is welcome and we will set up a learner's table, if needed. If you have questions or want to receive email reminders, contact Mike Corbett at micedcor1@gmail.com. ~ Kris Corbett We hope those of you who joined us last month enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed your company. The goal is to complete the 10 phases that are established for the game one round at a time. These phases include 'sets' of cards (all the same number) and 'runs' (cards in a sequence). There are also Wild cards and Skip cards during play. We meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 2 to 4 pm in The Lodge Game Room. All are welcome from the 'experts' to the newcomers. We draw numbers for the players for each table so that we can share the friendship around. Snacks are provided but bring your own beverage. We had two sessions so far in July with great fun. If you have any questions, please contact Marianne Bugni (920) 517-2739 or email lamarib77@gmail.com. ~ Marianne Bugni Canasta Dominoes We are now playing dominoes weekly.
