FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2021 69 The Grand Canyon trip is on! The Four Seasons Motorcycle Club (MC) has been planning our next major multi-day ride and at our last club meeting president Terry Humble presented the much anticipated details. This will be a five-day ride that will begin on May 9, 2022. Day one will get us to Laughlin, Nev. Day two will get us to Williams, Ariz. Day three will include exploring the sights in and around the Grand Canyon. On day four we will leave the Grand Canyon and head for Prescott, Ariz. Day five will get us back home. A lot of work goes into planning these multi-day rides to make sure we have the exact route planned that includes nightly lodging, where we will be stopping for fuel, where we will stop for food and where we will be taking breaks. Terry has it all laid out. Thanks Terry! As of this writing, we have nine riders signed up for this trip and there is always room for more. So, if you ride and are interested in joining the MC and getting in on the fun, give us a call. In addition to our multi-day rides, the MC also rides every Thursday and, as is usually the case during the hot summer months, we have shortened these weekly rides a bit to help avoid the heat. Also, we have been heading out at 8 am instead of our normal 9 am start in order to take in more of the cool morning temps. The earlier start and shortened route has been getting us back home before noon and well ahead of the peak daily heat. Even though these summer weekly rides are shortened, we are still able to get in some good miles in the saddle. For example, on a recent Thursday we headed out at 8 am for breakfast at the Stage Coach Inn in Aguanga. After breakfast we headed for Idyllwild, via Anza, then we dropped down into Banning. A very enjoyable route and we were home by 11:30 am. Nice! ~ Jim Ayala Motorcycle Club Heading home after a great breakfast.
