During the height of the pandemic, the Solera
Golf Club continued to play with restrictions,
some of which were no rakes in the bunkers,
leaving the flag stick in, and only one person per
cart to minimize passing COVID by touch and
close contact with others.
In the past months, we have had our Match
Play Championship which was won by Alan
Forbes. Our Golf Club Championship winners
were David Scott, low gross, and John Dockery,
low net. Congratulations to all!
In August, we traveled to San Vincente Golf
Resort in Ramona. Because of COVID, our
participation was lower than in past years but
we still had 18 golfers along with two wives
who teed it up. More wives were there for the
festivities and the club-sponsored pizza party.
It's a very nice course but putting the greens was
tough!
In October, the club will have our annual
dinner with Hickory Ranch serving up BBQ.
Looking forward to an bigger turn out.
Still on the horizon is our annual Christmas
party featuring the ever-popular ugly Christmas
sweater competition and multiple drawings.
We play every Tuesday at around 7 am. We
play twice a month at Oak Valley and travel twice
a month, alternating with Tukwet, Soboba, and
Yucaipa. If you would like to join us, you need
to be a Solera resident and have an established
SCGA handicap. Interested? Contact Jim Parker
