Welcome to October, Four Seasons friends! Summer is behind us and finally fall is here. We're looking forward to cooler weather soon but not to the Santa Ana winds and high fire danger. We all need to be keenly aware that with the windy season comes the chance of rapidly moving fires. Be prepared and be safe! The NHW Steering Committee continues to receive complaints from residents regarding speeding traffic within our community. It seems we dwell monthly on speeding; unfortunately, it continues to be a problem. The committee, along with the FS Safety Committee, is working on solutions to slow traffic throughout our community, including meeting with the Beaumont Police Department soon. Please remember, the posted speed limit on ALL streets, EXCEPT Four Seasons Circle, is 25 mph. The speed limit on Four Seasons Circle is 30 mph. I hope you were able to attend our meeting in September when we hosted the Banning City Manager, Douglas Schulze. If you were unable to attend, Eric Zarr will have the video available on YouTube. Since our communities are adjacent, we share many of the same issues, i.e., traffic congestion, homelessness, and future development of both of our cities. Mr. Schulze shared a PowerPoint presentation that addressed the financial status of Banning and proposed commercial and residential projects for their city. Large residential communities are being planned for areas both north and south of the I-10 freeway. In addition, Banning has accepted plans from developers to erect several large warehouse projects, cannabis dispensaries and growing facilities, commercial businesses, and the planned large Grandave Movie Studios at Banning Airport. Mr. Schulze acknowledged that these massive developments will greatly impact the traffic situation in both Banning and Beaumont. He stated that he doesn't believe the addition of Grandave Studios will lead to major increases in air traffic at the Banning Airport, which will be owned by Grandave Studios. There are plans to extend Sun Lakes Blvd. from Highland Springs to Sunset Avenue to reduce traffic on Highland Springs. However, due to Banning's current financial situation, the road extension will not become a reality until after the businesses are built when taxes and fees from the developers can then be collected for road construction. The NHW Steering Committee is planning our own "National Night Out" for Thursday, Oct. 7 from 5 to 8 pm. The event will take place outdoors at the Loggia area, behind The Lodge. We will have two food trucks offering both Mexican and BBQ food for sale. The Kopper Kettle Bistro will also be selling desserts. Our resident DJ, Tracy Crow, will be playing great music and we will have vendors representing the Beaumont PD, CHP, Riverside County Sheriff 's Office, and many others. Please mark your calendars and join us for a fun evening of entertainment, information, great food, and fun! As always for your safety and the safety of all of our residents, please remember, "If you see something, say something." Wishing you all a very healthy and safe October! ~ Donna Gilbreth, dgilbreth52@gmail.com 24 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2021 Neighborhood Watch
