12 12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2021 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2021 | How can it possibly be October? That means it's almost Halloween! Time to get to a bookstore and buy a "spooky" book. Heavens, buy two and donate one to Four Seasons. I hope you were able to join us For Vicki Hitt's talk. It's exciting to have published authors living in Four Seasons. Let's support them. We are hoping Ellyn Wolfe, author of Grateful for the Color Blue, will be our next speaker. Both copies of Ellyn's books are checked out. Please return her book ASAP. The Library Committee did not meet formally in July and August — too many vacations. But we certainly don't take time off when it comes to keeping the library in fine order. I write the years we are able to display on all the different books. Due to limited space, we can only display books within certain years. We love your donations! All books displayed are from Four Seasons residents but recently there were 60 books donated that were far too old for our library. Please donate all your older books to either Goodwill, Angel View, Salvation Army, or the charity of your choice. This was the third large donation of books we couldn't use in a short span of time. Thanks for your help. Hardbound fiction is displayed from 2013-2021. Nonfiction is not displayed by date. We do not display any reference books. The paperback books are displayed from 2017-2021 and we can barely work in all the returns. We might need to remove some 2017 books. Not complaining… keep those donations coming. We finally have some magazines for you to sit, relax, and enjoy reading. Please remember magazines must be dated within the last three months of this year. When you finish reading yours at home, bring them up to our library! We have a wonderful collection of non-fiction books. We have both autobiographical and nonfiction topics. Be sure to check the books found in the cabinets under the paperbacks. Take time to peruse the many soft bound books displayed on library tables. The authors have donated their works for your enjoyment. Thank you for helping by taping your puzzle boxes before returning them. It has made a big difference in keeping the pieces where they belong — in the box! Reading brings people into your life. Open that book. Until next month… ~ Cookie Thoughts from Blair; "Libraries always remind me that there are good things in the world." ~ Lauren Ward Library Committee
