| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2021 | 33 It is so wonderful to be out and about again and to see everybody. We all had so much fun at our last get together that I hope we have as big if not a bigger turnout in October. For August, we had Sheila and Larry James (Jamestown) and they truly brought the house down! She sang so many songs that we all love like Black Velvet and Crazy but their duets are truly lovely. Their voices are blending so well. And then Sheila ended with her over-the-top, spectacular version of All That Jazz and, as Sheila does, made an impact like no other. There was a standing ovation for her and I've never seen that happen before at our club but she deserved it. We all love you, Sheila and Larry! Our October gathering will be on Sun., Oct. 24 with Ellen and Dix Henneke (Elixir). They are also Sun Lakes residents and are somewhat new to our community but have already performed in the lounge and on the veranda for our Sun Lakes residents. However, this will be their first time entertaining for our 80s Plus Club so I look forward to sharing them with all of you. I'm sure you will enjoy them tremendously! As mentioned, our next gathering will be Oct. 24 and you need to get your reservations and checks in to Donna Harrington by Oct. 14. The dinners are $12 per person and due by the Oct. 14 deadline. Her address is 5393 Riviera Ave., between gates 1 and 3. If either you or your spouse are 80 years old or older, you are both eligible to be a member of the wonderful 80s Plus Club. It is also common for members to bring guests whether they are family members, out of town guests, caregivers, or even other Sun Lakers who may want to give us a try before joining. We gather each month for a social dinner and first rate entertainment. We are always in the South Clubhouse at 3 pm. Our schedule is the fourth Sunday of each month for the rest of 2021. Our dues are just $10 per year. During the calendar year of 2021, there was/will be one deviation from our regularly scheduled meeting times and places and that will be for our next month's gathering in November. Our Thanksgiving dinner will be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom instead of South Clubhouse on our normal date Nov. 28. There had been a scheduling conflict when first scheduling our 2021 meeting dates but this will give our Thanksgiving a holiday special-event vibe! This is just an early heads up alert but will NOT affect our October dinner in the South Clubhouse as usual. 80s Plus Club
