When you sharpen a stick you have a point and with that pointy
stick you can poke people to get an idea across. That is probably what
people mean when they say "get to the point." Unless of course if you
are a surfer and someone is telling you to go to Point Magu. There
was a point here somewhere. Writing? Writing is pointless unless
you can get someone to read it. If you enjoy writing and live in lovely
Sun Lakes where the sun is almost unbearable most days, you can
bring your latest efforts to the Sun Lakes Creative Writers. Meetings
are on the first Monday (Oct. 4), and third Wednesday (Oct. 20) of
each month except for holidays and national emergencies. You could
easily make it to a meeting when a flood is less then two feet and if
a small earthquake happens you can pick up all your stuff from the
floor after the meeting. If an insurgency surfaces the group will not
take sides, at least while the meeting is in progress. Meetings begin
at 3 pm and end by 5 pm, in time for cocktails and dinner. Halloween
is coming this month and if you haven't yet decided on wearing a
mask or not wearing a mask, well good luck to you. If you would
like to join an exciting group that can't get through a day without
writing something, from grocery notes to memoirs, or from poems
to fictional stories then come see what is going on. Before you join us
