Faith in Action will host a mobile pop- up application event to help residents in Beaumont and Banning apply for United Lift Rental Assistance, where they can potentially be approved on the spot. United Lift, funded by Riverside County's coronavirus relief funds, in partnership with Lift to Rise and Inland SoCal United Way, is a rental assistance program that aims to help thousands of families affected by COVID-19. Approved applicants will receive three months of future rent payments, plus up to 12 months of any past due rent, issued directly to their landlord. Applicants do not have to have U.S. citizenship to be eligible for assistance. Eligible applicants can also receive outstanding utility bills, including gas, electricity, and water. The mission of Faith in Action is to assist in the short-term and long-term needs of the homeless and low income in the San Gorgonio Pass The Faith In Action Rental Assistance Mobile pop-up event is planned for Sat., Oct. 2 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Banning Community Center, 789 N San Gorgonio Ave., Banning. Residents must bring all required documents (below) in order to apply for rental assistance and receive approval. Failing to bring the required documents will mean the applicant cannot apply for assistance that day. • A form of ID such as a driver's license, ID card, consular ID card, or any similar form of identification • A personal email address • Copy of a current lease agreement • Proof of COVID-19 impact or related loss of income, such as a loss or reduction in income, unemployment, increase in childcare costs, or COVID-19 related medical and self-quarantine costs • 2020 tax forms or income documentation (household income must fall under 80 percent of area median income to apply) • Landlord's phone number and email address Friends of Faith in Action | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2021 | 49
