| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2021 | 53 Once again, a great big "HHEELLLLOO to everyone." I sincerely hope your month of September was a great one. I have always found it kind of interesting how we all remember the month of October. When asked what you think of October, what first comes to mind? I would venture to say, is that most of us think of Halloween. Why do I find that interesting, you ask? What about the other 30 days? Then again, I'm just an old guy sitting at a computer keyboard trying to remember what he is to type. Moving on. Well, here is another very interesting fact that I know you all are just sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear. I went on a website called "National Day Calendar. I asked for what they had for the month of October. Would you believe it? They had a list of "109" things that are celebrated during the month of October. They range from "Adopt a Shelter Dog Day," which I think is great, to "National Economic Education Month." This sounds like a training course that all our government leaders need to attend, especially the ones in Washington. Then there is my special, "National I'm Just Me Because Month." Now, once again, you are probably asking yourself, "what the heck does this have to do with owning and traveling with a recreational vehicle? And the answer, of course, is "Not a Darn Thing." Our club just completed their last RV Club trip last month and you will hear about that in November. I just didn't want you to be deprived of not having the pleasure of hearing from yours truly. I know how you all just look forward to reading my intelligent, spell-binding dialogue. All kidding aside, as we are all very aware, our current crisis has put a very huge dent in every aspect of traveling and that includes the RV industry. We, like you, are also hoping the months ahead and 2022 will allow for all of us to make up for lost fun. In the meantime, what I'm attempting to do is to provide you with a little light entertainment and escape from the concerns we all have. And truthfully, I hope it's working.
