After joining, you will begin receiving all the latest email updates about trips and events being planned. Joe Moore - VP Membership will be happy to answer any questions you may have. RV Club members work together to plan fun and exciting trips both near and far. Last August, the RV Club went to Del Mar for a "Day at the Races." The event started with a ride on the Coaster to Solana Beach where members boarded a double-decker bus to the Del Mar racetrack. They were seated in an outside restaurant area where they could watch the races. See photos. Thank you to Meddy Carso and Tatis Cervantes-Aiken for creating this fun day trip. Here's a brief summary of trips planned for the rest of 2021: Big Bear Pop-Up (Oct. 18-21), Branson, MO, Pop-Up (Nov. 1-6), and Thanksgiving Trip to Chula Vista (Nov. 15-19). Everyone is invited to our next Travel Club meeting on Mon., Oct. 11. We will elect our Board for 2022. Our guest speakers will be Bob and Jean Johnson, who will highlight their trip to the Galapagos and share some great pictures from their adventure. On Oct. 28 we are off to The La Brea Tar Pits, which have fascinated many for over a century. More than 100 excavations have been made, and most of the fossils are housed in the on-site museum. Discoveries range in size from huge, extinct mammoths to "microfossils," tiny remains of plants and animals. Lunch will follow at Maggiano's Italian Restaurant, served Family Style in our own private room. After lunch, there will be time to explore "The "Grove" and the Farmer's Market. The price is $128; add $5 for non-members. The price includes transportation, exhibit tickets, lunch, water, a snack, and all taxes and gratuities. Our Annual Party will be held on Mon., Nov. 8, in Abravanel Hall. We will enjoy a Luau Buffet Dinner catered and served by L & L Hawaiian Barbecue. The price is $35; add $5 for non-members. Please save the date, Thurs., Dec. 16, for a trip around the San Diego area to see Christmas lights. More details will be available soon. Finally, we are very excited to confirm that we will be kicking off 2022 with a trip to see the Rose Bowl Parade. Day Trippers will conduct the trip and pick us up right here in our OHCC Overflow Parking Lot! The non-refundable price is $235 per person; add $5 for non-members. The price includes a Day Tripper professional tour guide and bus driver, bottled water and snacks on the bus, reserved grandstand seating with the sun at your back and unobstructed views of the parade; and gratuities for the guide and driver. For any of our Travel Club trips, flyers with additional details are available at the Clubhouse. Prices always include any required event tickets, bus, bus driver, and all gratuities.
