Loving Our Dog Park Friends: The play days at the dog park have
seen many new dogs enjoying the long days of summer and early fall.
There are often a couple of different informal groups, coming around
noon, then early afternoon, and late in the day. There are dogs of
all sizes and ages, tiny and large, from a few months old to seniors.
From inveterate ball chasers to puppies engaging in wild games of
chase, to the more sedate who hang out with humans, they all seem
to love being in the company of other dogs. Many owners say that
their dogs seem to "know" when it's their time to go to the park and
start pestering their people to head out.
Some reminders:
1. The dog park hours are 10 am to sunset.
2. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations, including Bordetella.
3. Dogs diagnosed with, suspected of, or showing signs of illness
must be kept out of the park.
4. No personal toys and no food are allowed. This is a safety
issue, as some dogs are possessive and may become aggressive
when defending their things.
5. Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times.
6. Owners are encouraged to bring their own water bowl.
7. Owners must clean up after their dogs while walking in the
village as well as in the park.
8. Cleaning and sanitizing of park Tuesday and Friday, 9-10am
