Throwing out a few kudos to a few of our excellent golfers
who competed in the Touring Amateurs tournament
at Saint Marks Executive Course on Aug. 16. First and
foremost, congratulations to Tony Gillett who made a
hole-in-one on the 14th hole. At left is a photo of him
hamming it up… I mean, celebrating his monumental
accomplishment. Tony volunteers as a Casa worker and he
and his wife Bev are tireless helpers for a number of our
golf events at Ocean Hills. And Bev provides us with a lot
of tasty recipes in The Village Voice. Hope you rewarded
Tony with one of your delicious meals, Bev!
Other folks to recognize are Bob Bechill and Donna
Butler who won closest to the pin honors. And Mike Stern,
Sue Burleson, John Jarf, and Neal Wagerle who posted a 44
gross on the par 58 course. Amazing!
Coming up are the last two Touring Amateurs events for
the year: Shadowridge on Mon., Oct. 18 and Welk Resort
Fountain Course on Mon., Nov. 15. The early tee timers at
Welk might want to dress warm. Just saying.
Hope our own golf course will be ready to roll after the
first of the year and that our Guys and Dolls and Special
tournaments will resume shortly after.
