Ouch! Why am I in the bottom of the return box in the library? Next time I'll make sure I am on the top of the pile. This is downright uncomfortable. Everyone knows that I am James Patterson, the world's most favorite author. Wait a minute, how did Stephen King just get dropped on top of me! I know it is October and Halloween is coming so everyone wants a good spooky read; my book The Shadow is right up there in the top reads. Just ask my fans worldwide. Ah, here we go. I am being reshelved. I have a green dot that says I am special. I am a RESERVED book. I have a special pocket, and that means I will be processed first. Yup, the librarian just pulled my white card, crossed off the name of the last person who read me. Now I am waiting patiently to find a new home as someone calls the next person on the list. These volunteer librarians are great. They work so hard to keep me circulated. Some of us have more than one copy available for you to read. How about you Mr. King? Can you match that! I admit, however, there are lots of books to choose from: The Classics, Nonfiction, Resident authors, and even Romances. James Patterson is a prolific author who writes detective stories, thrillers, science fiction, romance. He is known as the world's bestselling author, selling over 230 million books. His famous series about a New York City detective, Michael Bennett, is a favorite along with his enduring character Alex Cross in Along Came a Spider. He also writes narrative nonfiction such as The President is Missing and Run, Rose, Run. Patterson is more than an author of thrillers. He has donated over 35 million dollars to both his and his wife's alma maters. He has established over 400 Teacher and Writer Education Scholarships at universities throughout the country and donated to date over seven million dollars to school and classroom libraries. He received the Children's Choice Award for Author of the Year for his initiatives in helping kids become passionate readers. Don't miss The Shadow, a sequel to the classic series, but this time the antagonist is alive in a futuristic world, and Lamont will do anything in his power to stop him, Four Stars.
