| OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2021 | 13 Choral Society Ah music. It cleanses the soul! The chorale started rehearsing for the Holiday Concert this last week. It was so nice to see old friends and to once again make music together. Tears were shared as we welcomed the opportunity to come together in song. We're off to a great start with exciting and challenging music. Music downloads with part-dominant recordings are available enabling chorale members to come to rehearsals more prepared. We can't wait to invite our friends and neighbors to our concert on Sun., Dec. 12 at 2 pm in Abravanel Hall. We have determined that we will welcome all new members into the chorale for the month of September, but we will not take any new memberships after Sept. 30. We are taking extra precautions to stay safe. Proof of vaccination is required to participate in the rehearsals, the chairs are socially distanced, and many are wearing masks. Rehearsals are Thursday mornings at 10:30 am. We hope to see you there. If you have any questions, contact a member of the Choral Society Board. "Music can heal the wounds that medicine can't touch." OHSPA The OHSPA Board is very excited with our 2022 schedule. We will be having four concerts next year! It is time to focus on what is ahead for the Ocean Hills audiences in 2022. The first booking is Four By Four, and they are: The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Bee Gees, and Motown! A stellar cast of four performers present the legendary hits of four of the most iconic musical styles in pop music history with live back-line instruments. The concert is Sat., Feb. 26. Next on the list is Dukes of Dixieland! They blow traditional Jazz and Dixieland into the 21st Century, weaving strands of pop, gospel, and country with authentic New Orleans sound. They are keeping the tradition AND breaking new ground. The concert is Sat., May 2. One Night In Memphis will be showing next and starring Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash. The number one and official tribute starring former members of the Broadway smash Million Dollar Quartet with live back-line instruments. The concert is Sat., Aug. 14. Reunion Of The Doo Wop Stars is coming on Sat., Nov. 5. This concert has plenty of interaction and has sold out in venues throughout the country. The stars are The Diamonds, Coasters, Drifters plus Bill and the Corvettes which is the number one Doo Wop Band. The concert is Sat., Nov. 5. As most of you know, OHSPA is not a club. It is a not-for-profit corporation. Now is the time to become a Star Donor. You get to choose your seat(s) for all four performances before any tickets go on sale and you get a tax deduction. You will also be invited to any "Meet and Greet" we might have with the stars. We thank our current Star Donors because without you, we cannot exist! Star Donors pay $500 a person and that includes all four concerts. Please contact Donna Russell (760) 945-5558 or any OHSPA Director to get answers to any questions you might have about OHSPA as well as becoming a Star Donor.
