About 89 percent of Veterans are men, with one-in-ten or 11 percent, women. The Veterans Administration estimates there are 7.8 million who served in the Gulf War era and 5.9 million Veterans during the Vietnam era. There are also around 240,000 WWII Veterans and 933,000 who served during the Korean conflict. Roughly 78 percent of Veterans in 2021 served during wartime and 22 percent during peacetime. Rumor control: the present editor didn't quit and isn't on a permanent vacation and won't be until a replacement can be found. If you have experience in journalism and have ideas for future content, you may be the one to lead the publication's team of editors, proofreaders, and writers. While we wish we could pay you for this position, please know — just like all other HOA committee and Board members — this is a volunteer, nonpaying job. Please remember to send high-quality and article-appropriate pictures only. DID YOU KNOW it's time for Daylight Saving Time to end? Don't forget to "fall back" an hour on Nov. 7. It's always a good idea to change any manual clocks before going to bed so that the time will be correct when you wake. Those special smart phones do all the work for you and change automatically! DID YOU KNOW that bicyclists are riding on the sidewalk and people are walking in the streets? Let's switch this around as both of these practices are safety hazards! Please, walkers — use the sidewalks. Bicyclists — remember you need to follow the same rules of the road as drivers in cars. This includes stopping at stop signs, using turn signals, and using the road, not sidewalk.
