Jewish Cultural Club
The Jewish Cultural Club had a great time this past month, when
we screened The Yankles, a film about a school for orthodox Rabbis
that fields a college baseball team. The filmmaker, Zev Brooks, joined
us for the screening and the dessert reception afterwards. The event
was in conjunction with the Jewish holiday Sukkot (the festival of
the harvest). The reception was held poolside at The Lodge where
our HOA and Cindy Graves assisted us creating a Sukkah (a small
structure symbolizing the tabernacles that were built in the desert).
Thanks to Cindy and the maintenance staff of Four Seasons.
Join us on Dec. 7 at 5 pm in The Lodge Ballroom, $9 per person
(includes food and wine tasting) for the Annual Four Seasons
Beaumont JCC Chanukkah Extravaganza. This year we will have a
soup buffet, featuring Jewish-style soups (like matzo ball soup, sweet
and sour cabbage soup, and many others), made by our own Soup
Mavens. We will also have a Fiddler On The Roof group karaoke sing
along, a kosher wine tasting (with Taste D'Vine Wine Club), our
traditional Hora circle, and the giant menorah lighting, to celebrate
the holiday of Channukah. As always, you don't have to be Jewish to
join us.
